Common Sense Approach to Legislation

I am an engineer.  I look at policy problems the way I have been trained to look at engineering problems.  The issues we face need to be solved, but in ways that work for the people of Ohio, not hinder them.

We always need to keep in mind the changes we make will have effects across the legal landscape of the state.  That is why I want to look at what impact policies will make in other areas.  We have to take into account how they will affect the state as a whole, not just the page of the revised code they’re written on.

We need that kind of common sense approach to legislation.
